ASSESSMENT AUDIT

Who are we doing this learning assessment for?
What do they need the information for?
What kind of information do they need?

My students (low intermediate level)

*      To know their own progress  (measure their performance)

*      To be motivates, in order to make improvements.

*      To analyze which errors or mistakes are being made.



*      Their tests’ grades and marks.

*      Suggestions and positive comments on how to improve.

*      Encouragement and motivation.

*      Written feedback, including comments about their homework and personal work (class activities).

*      Specific goals and the purpose of the lesson.

*      Self- assessment activities, that way, students will be able to measure their own performance.

Parents

*      To see if their children are making the progress that they expect.

*      To make an evaluation on the teacher’s work, strategies and methods.

*      To help their children to improve themselves.

*      To support them.
*     
*      Their children’s grades and marks.

*      Recommendations of the teacher on how the children can improve, or on what she/he has to work harder.

*      What is the teacher doing to help their children?

*      Their children’s work, like class activities, exams and homework, in order to be able to monitor their progress.

Teachers

*      To set clear goals and purposes, in order to make a clear plan on how to reach those goals, meaning, all of the methods and strategies that will be followed.

*      To establish if the teaching methods, activities or strategies are working correctly, or which are working the most and which the least.

*      To measure the student’s progress.

*      To identify general and personal difficulties among the students.

*      Works and homework from the students, to set a general idea of their performance.

*      Suggestions, comments, and feedback from the students.

*      To know the students’ abilities and difficulties.

    Thank you for your assessment audit, I think this is a reflection that all teachers must make before starting teaching a course.
