OBJECTIVES AND CONTENT OF UNIT FOUR

UNIT 4: I´VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT
Objective or aim:  Students will make and answer questions about their personal activities using the simple past and the present perfect tense in contrast, in written and oral form, relating them to several foods about different countries. And they will be also be able to write their own recipe, using the adverbs of sequence, and they will identify, through a reading, some recommendations about the food pyramid.
CONTENT:
LISTENING:
Objective: To look for specific information by identifying several foods, through their respective descriptions.
To identify the difference between the pronunciations of questions using have you and did you.
Listen to some conversations for specific information.
GRAMMAR:
Objective: To identify in which situations to use the simple past and in which the present perfect, through a fill in the blanks exercise. To use the adverbs of sequence.
SPEAKING:
Objective: In pairs, students will ask and answer questions about their own preferences about food. To talk about daily habits referring to eating and diet.
WRITING:
Objective: To give instructions through the written form.
READING:
Objective: To look for specific information in a reading that talks about the food pyramid.

    Your objective is very grammatical. However, it depend on the purpose of the class: it could be focused on language or on communication. If your objective were communicative you had to say somethign like this: Students will make and answer questions about their personal activities using the simple past and the present perfect tense in contrast, in written and oral form, relating them to several foods about different countries. And they will be also be able to write their own recipe, using the adverbs of sequence, and they will identify, through a reading, some recommendations about the food pyramid.

    Note: the language function is places at the beginning.
